welcome ...
This site is the beginning of the book I'll probably never have time to write.
My pieces are my stories … about thoughts, feelings, travels, wonder at the natural world. I like to play with different, sometimes experimental, enamel techniques for each series.
I want to document the pieces I have made over the years, and to share the information I have gathered through countless tests and experiments while learning to control the medium. Later I plan to include articles about the techniques I use and to include my much older work.
My chosen medium of enamel ... glass on metal ... best describes the imagery I wish to create, and enables me to look at it from a different perspective given its technical advantages and limitations.
After almost 40 years I still have an ongoing love affair with enamel, and still experience the excitement of seeing glowing red panels emerging from the kiln, still with a slight apprehension as to whether the time and temperature have worked their magic as I had planned.
